Artist's Statement: Jewelry

I create one-of-a-kind polymer clay jewelry for women who want to elevate their personal style with an artistic touch. My jewelry reflects our connection to the wonder and beauty of the natural world. Each design begins with inspiration drawn from the colors and textures of  nature--the strata of weathered stone, beach sand ripple marks, and the vibrant hues of my native New England seacoast and forests..

Sometimes, I start with a clear design. At other times, I let the piece evolve as I work. My process involves multiple steps. I hand-mix custom colors, build colored shapes, and create patterned pieces. These elements are layered and combined with various surface effects and textures, then cured, sanded, and polished. I pair these clay elements with mixed media accents like hammered metals, metallic mesh chains, and glass and gemstone beads. Each piece is a wearable collage that blends modern minimalism with bohemian warmth.

At the heart of my work is the belief that jewelry can be as individual as the woman wearing it, helping you to feel confident, centered, and beautiful.
